Who We Need: 

The Program Director oversees and is responsible for the delivery of our Community Challenge.

Community Challenge is an annual statewide health competition.

The person in this role will expand the Challenge’s reach to tens of thousands of Texans and elevate this initiative as an entry point to It’s Time Texas for individuals, organizations and communities.

This role will work passionately to activate and inspire individuals, organizations and communities to join ITT in the movement to transform their health and the health of their communities.

This role lifts up the important work of community champions as a strategy to drive change, promote messaging to bring awareness to relevant issues, and engage with decision makers who are essential to creating community-level change in the future such as civic leaders.

This role also supports engagement efforts with SNAP-eligible individuals and partners, who are a key component to build advocacy efforts necessary to create and sustain policy, systems, and environmental change at the local and state levels.

This role serves as the project manager and leads the execution of the Community Challenge.

This includes inspiring, engaging, and coordinating cross-departmental internal stakeholders and external stakeholders (e.g., municipal leaders and elected officials, school district officials, and health champions in communities across the state).

This role manages people (including staff and contractors and potentially interns and volunteers), projects, performance, deliverables/ outcomes, budgets and resources.

This person will play a key role in developing and managing high-level relationships that help to develop and expand the CC.

This position also has a critical role in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing staff.

As a leader of our work, they are ultimately responsible for ensuring that the team achieves its goals and effectively communicates results, outputs, and outcomes to internal and external audiences. 

We are looking for someone on the nonprofit executive director career track, someone who understands and loves improving and streamlining operational complexity and is an activator and connector who is eager to work with our team, community stakeholders, partners, funders, and the business community to grow this program’s reach and impact.

We’re looking for someone with development skills and experience who can support these efforts as our strategy evolves.

We need someone who excels in connection and communication, public speaking, project management, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has technological savviness.

This position may require up to 50% travel across Texas during busy periods of the year.

You excel at time management and execute tasks with a high degree of clarity, accuracy, and attention to detail. 
What You’ll Bring: 
4+ years of nonprofit/program delivery experience, ideally in a health-related field with 2+ years in a team management or supervisory role  Outstanding prioritization and project management skills  Experience working with closely with funders and securing new opportunities  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, bi-lingual is a plus Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills 
Essential Functions and Responsibilities 

Project Delivery (30%)
Serves as lead project manager for Community Challenge Assists staff in the development of Community Challenge projects and approves projects that align with the goals, vision and strategy of the organization  Ensures that Community Challenge projects have sufficient resources and are operating effectively Ensures project delivery is maximizing our impact and ROI Supports team to have accountability of project management systems  Ensure that project activities operate within organizational policies and procedures and in compliance with funder requirements Identify, evaluate, and manage the risks associated with project activities  Responsible for holding Project Team accountable and providing support as needed
Relationship Management (30%)
Work to develop a deep network in Texas and strengthen relationships with key partners and funders that will advance ITT’s Community Challenge throughout the year Identify new opportunities for growth and collaboration with partners Understand partner and community needs to cultivate stronger relationships and identify ways to serve them better Lead strategic partner and stakeholder meetings to increase awareness and engagement of It’s Time Texas Serve in a leadership capacity at external meetings to represent It’s Time Texas and communicate our vision Engage with partners and stakeholders regularly to maintain strong relationships Provide support, direction, and feedback to team members Model behavior that is consistent with the organizational culture we are building (highly relational, embraces candor, purpose-driven, and supportive of employee health/wellness) Hold team members accountable for performance and develop corrective action plans as needed Recruit, hire, and train new staff as needed Work with leadership across the organization to implement a matrixed organizational structure that increases support for our efforts, provides growth/leadership opportunities for staff, and widens the ownership/understanding of key programs, events, and initiatives Support other teams in accomplishing organization-wide goals Manage subcontractor relationships, invoices, budgeting and other duties as assigned  Assist in strategy development that helps grow the Community Challenge’s impact, number of people participating, and geographic reach Play a key role in the annual planning process for Community Challenge  Provide thought leadership to elevate the team’s potential and thinking Play a critical role in implementing strategies that increase stakeholder engagement, as well as ITT overall to maximize impact and donor base Coordinate cross-project and cross-team activities that maximize organizational impact
Funder Management, Reporting & Budgeting (10%)
Assist in budgeting process as necessary Support the development and/or reporting of grant/funding proposals  Ensure that the team operates within the approved budgets and grant/contract agreements
