Safety Manager

This is a Contract position in Coppell, TX posted May 9, 2021.

The Safety Manager is responsible for preventing accidents in business and client job sites, investigating accidents, and implementing post-injury follow up procedures for employees. The Safety Manager will develop and implement inspection policies and procedures, administer safety training, and monitor compliance with safety procedures. Additionally, the Safety Manager is responsible for the development and management of a team of leave of absence administrators. Job Requirements: Essential Duties Provide extensive case management and coordinate administrative aspects of cases and claims for multiple state locations Investigate all complaints of unsafe/unhealthful working conditions and provide guidance in situations that can be corrected immediately. Investigate workplace accidents and incidents and report to appropriate parties as required Produce and manage reporting metrics and analytics for all leave cases while partnering with management teams Prevent accidents by developing, building on, and modifying company safety policies and procedures Monitor compliance with safety procedures Conduct and document regular safety meetings and forklift certifications Investigate accidents involving lost time injuries and work-related illnesses to determine cause factors and make recommendations necessary to prevent recurrences Train and develop all team members to ensure process compliance Other duties as assigned Requirements Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task efficiently Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage team members in office and remote environments Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Knowledge of federal, state, and local leave and disability laws Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or applicable transferable education/instructional design field/experience preferred Five years of relevant experience Travel Requirements Approximately 35% travel is required for the Safety Manager. Travel requirements may vary depending on operational needs and potential onsite visits/investigations. Overnight stays may be required throughout the work week as dictated by business objectives and district boundaries.
