Some people call it an obsession, we call it a way of life.What you need to know about the jobJob ID: 1085600 Date Posted: 5/20/2021 Primary Location: Houston, Texas Other Locations: Roseville, California, United States of America; San Jose, California, United States of America; Fort Collins, Colorado, United States of America Job Category: Business Planning Schedule: Full time Shift: No shift premium (United States of America)As part of the Business Strategy & Operations Team for the Software Business Unit and CTO Office you will provide core business operations support to the CTO Office and some other teams in SW business.Responsibilities:* Provides core business operations support to SW business owning budget management, forecasting, actual cost tracking.* Manage the monthly and quarterly financial close process, partnering closely with finance.* Partners with business leader and cross-functional teams to develop short-term (typically less than two years) business plans and supporting data-driven models.* Prepares comprehensive implementation tactics, including execution plans, resource allocation plans, follow-up guidelines, assessment, and process accountabilities.* Ensures that business activities are aligned with stated plans among different stakeholders.* Sets business metrics, evaluates actual performance, and makes recommendations to business leaders on performance target achievement.* Defines the metrics required to measure business performance, compares actual data to forecasted values, and develops the process for identifying and addressing performance gaps.* Works with cross-functional teams across the entire span of business planning activities.* Works closely with business leaders to develop business plans based on historical and forecasted data and reports.* Drives operational excellence by proactively identifying process improvements and developing & implementing solutions while partnering with other Operations Managers, HR and Finance.Education and Experience Required:* University degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree desired* Requires 6 -10 years of experience in business planning, operations, finance or related functional areaKnowledge and Skills:* Demonstrated knowledge of research methodology and the ability to manage complex data requests.* Excellent analytical thinking, technical analysis, and data manipulation skills.* Ability to learn and draw on new analytical techniques to develop creative approaches to business analysis.* Extensive knowledge of Excel and financial modeling.* Strong business acumen and technical knowledge within area of responsibility.* Strong verbal and written communication skills.* Very strong project management and operations skills, including leading cross-functional initiatives that impact the organization Developed relationship management skill* Demonstrated skills in planning and financial analysis.* Developed relationship management skills.COLORADO ONLY:We are legally required to provide the following information for candidates seeking to staff this role in Colorado.
