This highly-regarded hospital is actively interviewing for a Senior Nursing Director to oversee clinical and administrative operations for Acute Care Services and to support the CNO in managing hospital operations. Join this on the South Texas Hospital, and help lead delivery of outstanding Nursing Care.

Well known in the community for superior patient care and quality, this 300+ bed medical center on Texas’ Gulf Coast has been recognized at the local, state, and federal levels for its commitments to being best-in-class. The Acute Care Senior Nursing Director will join a hospital that offers a wide array of inpatient and outpatient services to the region. Cardiovascular Services and Neurosciences, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, Wound Care and Oncology – all are available at this outstanding medical center near the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

This multi-level, multi-specialty Critical Care / ICU Department has had an astounding track record of delivering the highest quality, award winning care. The Senior Director will take direct Administrative control of 6 high-performing Intensive Care Units across 100+ beds which see a broad range of patients and cases at this certified trauma center. A true Senior Director role, this person will oversee:

  • Two 18-bed Medical General ICU Units
  • One 14-bed Trauma Intensive Care Unit
  • One 18-bed Cardiac Telemetry and Post-Procedural Critical Care Units
  • Two 22-bed Respiratory CCUs that’s been a dedicated COVID units

Reporting to the Chief Nursing Executive, the Senior Acute Care Director will take responsibility for a complex set of units and activities. Supporting you in the daily operations of these units CCRN Clinical Nurse Directors and a Nursing Manager of Critical Respiratory Care who oversee each department. Clinical support for the Senior Director come from an outstanding team of frontline Clinical Nurse Supervisor, Intensive Care RN Charge Nurses, Respiratory, Telemetry, and Post-Surgical Recovery RN Specialists, and an extensive team of support staff.

The Senior Nursing Director will play a crucial role in the clinical and administrative operations of these diverse units, and of this hospital. This person will get to actively participate in the development and planning of the annual budget for these unit, setting and maintaining target staffing levels, and keeping a close eye on regulatory compliance for the Inpatient Critical Care Units and Acute Care Nursing Services as a whole. This non-profit healthcare system has a great reputation for supporting the continuing education of its nurses, and the Senior Director will be able to improve further on that formula.

This person will serve as an Nursing Leader in the facility, supporting the development of Hospital and Market-wide procedure and policy. The Senior Acute Care Services Director should have strong communication skills, and the ability to work across both clinical and operational boundaries, gaining buy-in along the way. This Director will both support and drive superior patient care, and will serve as a mentor to future nurse leaders. This is a very visible role in the Hospital, the Market, and the Health System.
