Web Development Manager

Job Description:

Santander Consumer USA is striving to provide a Simple, Personal and Fair experience for our automotive finance customers across each of our technologies. The marketing technology vertical is looking for a key leader in application development to help our customers and businesses prosper, leveraging digital, marketing disciplines and creative design to grow our business and deepen brand affinity.

OPEN TO REMOTE EMPLOYEE

The Web Application Development Manager will lead a team of developers focused on excellence in development for front-end web applications, progressive web applications, API design and untapped digital technologies. The right candidate should have mentorship and leadership experience directing a team of front-end developers, creating efficient coding and delivery processes, and should embrace Santander?s corporate values, accountability and collaboration. Candidate should also have a passion for user experience and customer-centric design thinking.

Responsibilities:

  • Full accountability for the development, performance and maintenance of web, mobile and UI applications
  • Manage a team of web application developers and producers
  • Accountable for technical solutioning and development planning
  • Partner with UX, design and digital teams to implement design and development on brand and within the design language system
  • Accountable to enforce secure coding standards through peer code reviews and automation
  • Own coding processes and policies, striving to create efficiencies in development
  • Partner with information technology, information security and program management for testing, quality assurance and release governance
  • Accountable to the Vice President of Marketing Technology for project planning, incremental delivery and capacity management
  • Stay up-to-date in web and mobile application development and technology trends

Requirements:

  • Bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-9 years of experience in development, design and digital delivery fields
  • 2-3 years of experience managing an application development team
  • 2-3 years of experience working in an Agile environment
  • Extensive experience in responsive design, web accessibility, progressive enhancement, API design (both producer/consumer)
  • Extensive use of PHP, WordPress custom theme development, WordPress custom plugin development, WordPress custom API development
  • Extensive use of static HTML and CSS (PostCSS, Less, Sass, Bootstrap framework)
  • Extensive use of JavaScript/TypeScript (React, KnockoutJS, NodeJS)
  • Experience designing and developing progressive web applications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment required
  • Solid strategic, analytical, organizational, communication and presentation skills required
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and agency partners required
  • Excellent attention to detail required
  • Highly collaborative
