Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo’s risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline’s execution of its risk management responsibilities.

We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.Compliance Director, Model GovernanceThis position is responsible for building, developing, and executing a Compliance Model Governance Framework for front line model use and developing engagement protocols for documenting processes and procedures for compliance reviews for pre and post customer facing model implementation and approvals.

The incumbent will work closely with the Corporate Risk Model Development (CRMD) Center of Excellence to design analyses informed by each model use case, business strategies, practices, and policies.

The Shared Services Modeling Compliance Team works closely with Fair Lending Analytics Team, Business Aligned Compliance Officers, Risk and Control, Legal, Business leaders and functional experts to preview results, provide challenge and make recommendations for enhancements.Specific duties include the following:Provide high-quality reviews that help Wells Fargo identify, quantify, and mitigate legal, regulatory, and reputation risks in customer impacting models.Independently design and execute accurate reports that effectively communicate to a range of audiences the insights and information gained during customer impacting model reviews.Plan, lead, and facilitate effective loan reviews, requiring detailed expertise in business policies and practices.Partner with compliance, legal, business and control and modeling teams to validate model use and any changes that have transpired in data inputs, variables, outputs, business application, static/dynamic mechanics, etc.Assist with documenting processes and evidence of compliance with corporate policies: model risk/ compliance/data and maintaining accurate and detailed AI/ML compliance work papers for audit/exam reference.Keep abreast of specialized AI/ML modeling methodologies.Build and continuously enhance team knowledge and understanding of line-of-business consumer lending policies, practice, and lending strategies, documentation systems.Effectively synthesize complex information and compel analytically sound conclusions to support each review.Foster and maintain collaborative working relationships with business and other partners, and leverage those to inform team risk management activities.Proactively promote an inclusive and collaborative work environment.As an Employee Manager, you are expected to achieve success by leading yourself, your team, and the business.
